Gelaze by China Glaze Gel Polish Swatches and Review

Today I finally decided to get and try the new Gelaze By China Glaze soak off gel polishes. They were released at the and of February and are available at Sally Beauty Supply stores and they are buy one get one free till the end of March (2014). So I was in need of a new black gel polish and decided I'll try their black color called Liquid leather. As a free one I got one of my favorite coral pink colors by China Glaze- Flip Flop Fantasy. Yes , they had this color in their gel line. I've bought it a few times as a regular nail polish I was happy to find it as a gel. This shade is one of my go to shades for the summer.
The Gelaze line has 36 gel polish shades, and the nice thing about it is that it is a gel polish and base in one. This means you skip the base coat shade, which saves time. The polish contains base coat in it. You just have to apply top coat at the end. I used my UV light for curing the gel and it worked fine.
I did swatches of both colors and I really like the formula. They are well pigmented and the consistency of the gel is good. I applied 3 coats of gel polish and 1 coat of top and it did not appear thick at all.  Removing of the gel was way easier than Gelish and Opi gel polishes, since you don't use base coat. Overall I like the quality of the line and the color selection.

Here are my swatches:

  1. Thanks for the review! What do you think about this working with the regular CG polishes? I took a look at their site, and most of the colors are dupes of the non-gel colors, so it would be great to not rebuy colors I already have.

    1. If you want to use regular China Glaze nail polishes and then a gel polish base, I haven't tried it with CG, I've done t with regular nail polish and Gelish top and base. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, pre problem is that regular polish wrinkles under the gel top coat and doesn't look very nice. I would not recommend it, since regular and gel polishes have different ingredients.
